Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A MIUI 10.3 Stable update starts rolling out

Today the company has rolled out new MIUI 10.3 Stable update for both the phones, after the Redmi 4.  Xiaomi recently dropped plans to offer Android Pie update for the phones and also stopped beta updates, but these phones will continue to get Android Pie updates. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A MIUI V10.3.2.0.OCGMIXM update are 279MB and 289MB in size and also include Android security patch for April, 2019, but some are reporting that Redmi 6 still shows March security patch. In the same lines, today, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 have been listed officially on Nokia India website and it looks like the launch in India is imminent. The graphics duties are handled by the Adreno 504 GPU. It flaunts a 6.26-inch HD+ a-Si TFT LCD with selfie notch and since it is an Android One phone, it runs on Android 9 Pie.  Nokia 3.2 comes in two variants i.e., 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and another model with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The Redmi Go (4,500₹) is for the first time smartphone buyer who is coming from a mostly-offline world. I’ve been using the Redmi Go for a while now to understand whether it is worth recommending to the first time buyer. This is my review. Let’s try to understand the first time buyer. But that time may be coming to an end—Amazon is talking about transitioning to free one-day shipping. Oh yeah.</p> <p>In a call to investors yesterday, Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky said the company is working on setting the Prime shipping default to one-day. He said that they have been “working on evolving the Prime shipping program” with one-day shipping, going on to say that they’ll “be building most of this capacity through the year in 2019.”</p> <p>The word on the street is that Amazon will spend upwards of $800 million for the required infrastructure changes to make the change happen. They’ll also be expanding partnerships with USPS, UPS, and FedEx—alongside its own delivery service, of course—to make the one-day dream a reality.</p> <p>While it’s probably unlikely we’ll see one-day shipping hit all items before the end of 2019, Amazon is already making moves to get this shindig started earlier. For example, it dropped the $35 minimum for the current one-day shipping option <em>and</em> expanded eligible zip codes just last month. So the plan is already in motion.</p> <p>This is a smart move from Amazon, because many competing retailers, like Wal-Mart and Target, are now offering free two-day shipping on most items. This makes buying from Amazon less compelling to users, especially when you consider the fact that you don’t have to shell out $120 a year to the other guys to leverage the two-day option. Moving to one-day shipping will once again give Amazon the shipping advantage.</p> <p>The big question, however, is one that hasn’t yet been addressed: will this raise Prime membership costs? If I were a betting man, I’d put a healthy sum on “yeah, probably”—even if an increase doesn’t happen immediately, it’s inevitably going to happen.</p> <p>In other news, people aren’t upgrading smartphones as often, Disney looks to take control of Hulu, Walmart opened the “store of the future,” and a lot more. Let’s talk about it.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Smartphone upgrades slow:</strong> According to recent reports from Verizon and AT&T, consumers aren’t upgrading their smartphone as often. Reliance Jio leads feature phone market in India in Q1 2019

Jio saw great sales of both the smartphones and today, new reports have emerged that Jio becomes the leader in the feature phone market. According to Counterpoint Research which is a global research firm specializing in mobile & technology products, Reliance JioPhone became the leader in the feature phone market in Q1 2019 with a market share of 30 percent. Samsung stands second in the feature phone category with a market share of 15 percent and LAVA grabs the third position with a market share of 13 percent. Also, according to the reports from Counterpoint Research, it is estimated that a little more than 400 million feature phones would be sold worldwide. If you’re working on a GUI-less server or you’re on an SSH session to a remote computer, the command line is your only option. Linux and Unix-like systems such as macOS provide several commands to shutdown or reboot your system right from the command line.</p> <p>The commands you can use are:</p> <ul> <li>shutdown</li> <li>reboot</li> <li>halt</li> <li>poweroff</li> </ul> <p>Looking through the man pages for these commands can be confusing. Depending on which command line options you choose, all of these commands can perform <a href="http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/shutdown.8.html">shutdowns</a>, reboots, and system halts. In the Linux world, Fedora started to use <code>systemd</code> in 2011. Since then it has been adopted by a great many distributions. Debian and Ubuntu swapped to <code>systemd</code> in 2015.</p> <p>On <code>systemd</code>-based distributions the <code>shutdown</code>, <code>reboot</code>,  <code>halt</code>, and <code>poweroff</code> commands are effectively shortcuts that point to the <code>systemctl</code> command. Retaining these commands provides a degree of compatibility with <code>System V init</code>-based distributions.
