The teardown reveals a 11.16Wh battery (2,944 mAh at 3.79V), which is bigger than the iPhone XS's battery, but it is slightly smaller than the 3,179mAh battery on the iPhone XS Max. It is thicker since it packs more juice. This reveals a recetangular battery, unlike  L-shaped battery on the iPhone X, XS and XS Max. This has a rectangular single-decker logic board. Apple has used 64GB flash storage from Toshiba (TSB3243VC0428CHNA1 ) and 4GB LPDDR4X RAM from Micron Technology (MT53D384M64D4SB-046 XT:E). It has Apple 338S00383-A0, 338S00375-A1 power management IC from Dialog Systems. This time Apple has gone solely with Intel’s LTE modem, as confirmed by Qualcomm earlier. All the models have PMB9955 Baseband Processor (Modem) and Intel PMIC (PMB5829). It is Intel’s XMM7560 modem, which is the company’s fifth-generation LTE modem designed via Intel’s 14nm manufacturing process. <p>We were able to reproduce this problem, although it doesn’t happen every time. Usually, you’ll end up seeing an ad for “http://bit.ly/2Smz4uH;. That goes to the real Chrome download page, and everything is fine.</p>

<p>But, sometimes, you’ll see an ad for “google.com”. Guess what—that doesn’t actually go to Google.com. This ad was created by a scammer and goes elsewhere.</p>
<p>Microsoft is apparently not verifying the web address the advertisement actually goes to. Bing is letting this advertisement lie people.</p>

<p>Windows 10’s built-in antivirus can now run in a sandbox. Even if an attacker compromises the antivirus engine, they wouldn’t have access to the rest of the system. As Google’s <a href="https://twitter.com/tanmayg/status/1055870872613842944">Tavis Ormandy</a> puts it, “this is game changing.”</p>
<p>In fact, Windows Defender is the first complete antivirus product that can run in a sandbox. None of the paid (or free) antivirus products you can download boast this feature.</p>
<p>This news comes from the official <a href="https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/microsoftsecure/2018/10/26/windows-defender-antivirus-can-now-run-in-a-sandbox/">Microsoft Secure</a> blog. As Microsoft puts it:</p>

<p>Security researchers both inside and outside of Microsoft have previously identified ways that an attacker can take advantage of vulnerabilities in Windows Defender Antivirus’s content parsers that could enable arbitrary code execution. While we haven’t seen attacks in-the-wild actively targeting Windows Defender Antivirus, we take these reports seriously…</p>
<p class="">Running Windows Defender Antivirus in a sandbox ensures that in the unlikely event of a compromise, malicious actions are limited to the isolated environment, protecting the rest of the system from harm.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>In other words, the Windows Defender antivirus process that analyzes downloaded files and other content will run with very few permissions. Even if there was a bug in the antivirus process and a maliciously crafted file managed to compromise the antivirus itself, that now-dangerous antivirus process wouldn’t provide any access to the rest of your system. The attack would have failed.</p>
<p>Sure, an antivirus still needs a lot of access to your system. But the main antivirus process that runs with a lot of permissions won’t analyze files. It hands content off to a low-privilege <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/169139/sandboxes-explained-how-theyre-already-protecting-you-and-how-to-sandbox-any-program/">sandboxed</a> process, which does the dirty and dangerous work in a secure area.</p>
<p>Microsoft’s blog post goes on to describe how this feature was implemented without any noticeable performance drops:</p>

<p>Performance is often the main concern raised around sandboxing, especially given that antimalware products are in many critical paths like synchronously inspecting file operations and processing and aggregating or matching large numbers of runtime events. To ensure that performance doesn’t degrade, we had to minimize the number of interactions between the sandbox and the privileged process, and at the same time, only perform these interactions in key moments where their cost would not be significant, for example, when IO is being performed.</p>

<h2>Option One: Install the Apple Music App on Your Chromebook</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’ve bought a bunch of music on iTunes—or if you’ve uploaded your CD rips with iTunes Match—you can get to these just by downloading <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music">Apple Music</a>. Apple Music works on any Chromebook that supports downloading Android apps from the Google Play Store, which is most models released in the last few years. Just download the app, sign in with your Apple ID, and listen away!</span></p>
<p>Scaling in that app isn’t exactly pretty. It comes off looking much like a small tablet screen in the middle of your display (check out the image at the top of the article). We hope Apple fixes this in the future, but it does work. You can install the Apple Music app and listen to your music without much hassle.</p>
<h2>Option Two: Upload Your iTunes Songs to Google Play Music</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re making a clean break with Apple’s ecosystem, you can easily move your songs over to Google’s world. Google Play Music is still rocking along as Google’s music service, complete with a completely free cloud locker for all your songs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Start by downloading and installing <a href="https://play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#/manager">Google Play Music Manager</a> on the system where you’ve got your iTunes songs stored. <p>If you paid any attention to <a href="https://www.reviewgeek.com/7206/what-you-need-to-know-about-canon-and-nikons-new-mirrorless-cameras/">the launch of Canon and Nikon’s first full frame mirrorless cameras</a>—the EOS R, Z6, and Z7— you’d have noticed that some people were pretty unhappy that they only came with a single card slot—an SD slot for the Canon and an XQD slot for the Nikons—instead of dual storage card slots. So, let’s find out what the big deal was.</p>
<h2>Professional and Prosumer Cameras Traditionally Come With Two Card Slots</h2>
<p>Canon and Nikon have traditionally included dual card slots in their prosumer and professional offerings. Typically, it was <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/362177/what-sd-card-do-i-need-for-my-camera/">one SD card slot and one CF or other faster card slot</a> but, as SD card speeds have picked up, that’s changed a bit. Sony’s top-end <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/102534/htg-explains-are-mirrorless-cameras-the-future-of-digital-photography/">mirrorless cameras</a> all use dual regular SD card slots.</p>
<p>You can use dual slots in a few ways:</p>
<ul>
<li>You <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/39811/what-is-camera-raw-and-why-would-a-professional-prefer-it-to-jpg/">can shoot RAW files to one card</a> and JPEGs to another. That way, you have all the data, but you also have smaller photos you can quickly process on the go.</li>
<li>You can shoot RAW files to both cards, giving you a perfect backup should anything happen to one card. This is the most popular use.</li>
<li>You can shoot first to one card and then to the next which gives you more storage space. Since SD card prices have dropped, this is nowhere near as popular. Now, if people want more storage, they go with bigger cards.</li>
</ul>
<p>Shooting to dual card slots, however, has never been without its downsides. Since the camera had to write to two cards at the same time (and one was often slower), it could <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/361301/why-does-my-camera-slow-down-or-stop-shooting-bursts/">slow down the speed at which your camera could take multiple photos</a>. It was wedding and landscape photographers for whom data integrity was more important than burst speed that used them; sports or wildlife photographers often couldn’t.</p>
<p>Nikon has seemingly addressed this with the Z6 and Z7: they’ve used a single XQD slot which is a faster standard than SD cards. This means the cameras can—at least theoretically for now—shoot faster bursts for longer and higher definition (and bit-depth) video. Canon’s decision to go with a single SD card slot is a little more questionable and was probably just motivated by wanting to save space inside their smaller camera body.</p>
<h2>Is Having Only One Card Slot That Unsafe?</h2>
<p>All the uproar is predicated on two things:</p>
<ul>
<li>That lots of people relied on dual card slots.</li>
<li>That a single card slot is that much more unsafe than two.</li>
</ul>
<p>I suspect Canon and Nikon did their research and found that the vast majority of people buying their top end cameras weren’t using dual card slots, or at least weren’t relying on them. The amateur photography market dwarfs the professional market.</p>

<p>Back in the 90s and 2000s, “licensed game” was shorthand for “cheap junk made to get money from suckers,” with only a few standout exceptions like <em>Goldeneye</em>. But that’s changed: now there are plenty of great games built on the backs of successful movies, TV shows, and comics.</p>
<p>These games are obviously great for fans, who’ve either had to suffer through mediocre-at-best titles from the NES through PS2 eras or just go without. But they also make excellent gifts, since it’s hard to know what a gamer will like. If you know someone’s a fan of an established franchise, odds are great that they’ll get some enjoyment playing through them on a console or PC.</p>
<p>This isn’t an exhaustive list of the best licensed games ever—hit-and-miss as they tend to be, that would be way too long. These are the best available on the current and previous generations of consoles (Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U and Xbox One/PS4/Switch). If you know someone who’s a fan of any of the following shows or movies, you should be able to find a physical or digital copy of these games with ease.</p>

<h2><em>Spider-Man</em> (PS4)</h2>

<p>Despite no less than three different movie franchises featuring <em>Spider-Man</em> in the last decade, all made with at least some input from Sony, this game isn’t based on any of them. It tells its own story, though a lot of familiar faces show up, and doesn’t get bogged down with continuity.</p>
<p>While <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GW8YDLK/?tag=reviewgeek-20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the PS4-exclusive <em>Spider-Man</em></a> is a pretty decent open-world action game, what it really nails is the travel mechanics: fluid, physical web-swinging through Manhattan skyscrapers has never been so much fun. This game strikes an excellent balance between giving you just enough control to make you feel like a superhero, and guiding you just enough to keep you from breaking the fantasy. It’s the first worthwhile <em>Spider-Man</em> game since the original PlayStation version way back in 2000.</p>

On the newer iPhones, though, holding down the power button activates Siri. So Apple had to get a bit creative during those times when you want to shut down your iPhone.</p>

<p>You can store <a href="https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/manage-your-secure-notes-lp050001">Secure Notes</a> in LastPass as well as passwords. To do this in LastPass on a desktop, click the LastPass icon on your browser’s toolbar, select “Secure Notes,” and click “Add Note.” In the LastPass app for iPhone or Android, open the “Notes” section in your vault and tap the “+” (plus sign) button.</p>

<p>To type whatever you want, you can select the “Generic” option and get a big text box. If you want to store another type of data in your vault, you can even create a custom template. Just click the “Note Type” box, scroll to the bottom, and click “Add Custom Template.”</p>
