It has been referred to internally as 'GlobalCoin', and the company plans to start testing its cryptocurrency by end of this year finally set up a digital payments system in the first quarter of 2020. Facebook is said to provide users an affordable and secure way of making payments with GlobalCoin. It does not require users to have a bank account and the company is said to be in talks with money transfer firms including Western Union to streamline the process and make it easy for people to send and receive money. The company also plans to join hands with banks and brokers that will enable people to change international currencies into Facebook's digital coin. Reportedly, online merchants are planning to partner with Facebook GlobalCoin as a mode of payment in return for lower transaction fees. However, Facebook will need to overcome regulatory and technical hurdles before launching it commercially next year. The company's founder Mark Zuckerberg met the Bank of England's governor, Mr Carney to discuss the opportunities and risks involved in its cryptocurrency and has also sought advice on operational and regulatory issues from officials at the US Treasury. <p>Like most apps, you can launch Word from the Command Prompt, but Word also supports several optional switches for controlling the startup process.</p>
<p>Whether you type the command at the prompt, use it to <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/277403/how-to-run-command-prompt-commands-from-a-windows-shortcut/">create a shortcut</a>, insert it as part of a <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/263177/how-to-write-a-batch-script-on-windows/">batch script</a>, launching Word with additional parameters lets you do things like start Word in Safe Mode for troubleshooting or start with a specific template.</p>
<h2>Using the Command Prompt to Start Word</h2>
<p>Before we can open Word using the Command Prompt, we need to figure out which directory the winword.exe file is located. You can do this manually, or you can just have the Command Prompt find it for you. To do this, go ahead and open the Command Prompt by opening the start menu and typing “cmd” and selecting the “Command Prompt” application.</p>

<p>Recently Samsung demonstrated a new capability to create video clips of people talking using just a single photo. An <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1b5aiTrGzY&feature=youtu.be">explanation video</a> culminated in an example of a convincing talking Mona Lisa. It’s a significant step forward in deepfake technology.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/341469/how-to-spot-a-deep-fake-face-swapped-video/">Deepfake technology</a> refers to using A.I. processes to swap a face onto another person’s body in a video. Face-swapping is easy in photographs, but much more difficult in videos, and usually requires many sample photos of a target face.</p>
<p>That restriction alone is why deepfake videos are usually of celebrities, such as a compilation of movies with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF893Su8rlY">Nicholas Cage inserted as main characters</a>.</p>
<p>Samsung has taken the technology further. Instead of relying on many pictures of a person, they can now create video from a single image, or even a painting. It isn’t entirely convincing yet; you can easily see that something is off, but with just a few photos, the illusion starts to take hold. With time, the company will likely improve on the results as well.</p>
<p>The whole thing is fascinating and mildly terrifying. Any technology is a tool; you could use it for good or bad. Movie studios, for instance, use deepfake technology to seemingly bring actors back from the dead, as in “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.” But we have the internet, so of course, the tech can be and is used for horrible things as well. It’s early days though, so don’t feel the need to pull all your photos of the internet just yet. <small>[<a href="https://www.cnet.com/news/samsung-ai-deepfake-can-fabricate-a-video-clip-of-you-from-a-single-photo/">CNET</a>]</small></p>

<p>Fire up Chrome, click the menu icon, point to “Bookmarks,” then click on “Show Bookmarks Bar.” Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Shift+B (in Windows) or Command+Shift+B (in macOS).</p>

Your laptop will continue to run, wasting its battery and potentially even overheating in your bag. You’ll need to manually put your laptop to sleep or shut it down using its power button or options in the Power menu rather than simply closing the lid.</p>

Google Duo gets support for group video calling, Data Saving mode for India and more

This lets you make calls with up to eight people. Similar to Duo calls and video messages, group calls are also encrypted end-to-end, said Google. It is available for both Android and iOS. It has also added Data Saving mode for Indonesia, India, and Brazil that limits data usage on mobile networks and Wi-Fi on Android. This lets both you and the person you’re calling save data usage in video calls. This will be rolling out to more markets in the coming months. It has also added personalized video messages that lets you record messages when you don’t have time to call or when the person you’re calling can’t pick up. You can also personalize video messages by adding text and emojis, or drawing using brushes. This is already available on Android and will be available soon to iOS. Source

After a year of IGTV launch, Instagram is finally allowing creators to publish landscape videos on its platform. The experiment with vertical video is finally over and Instagram says that feedback from creators and viewers has made them introduce support for landscape or horizontal videos on IGTV. IGTV will also keep supporting vertical videos on its platform and the company says that IGTV for users will be a place to watch even more content from the creators they love. The company adds that vertical videos will be suitable for creators who want to be up-close and personal with their audience and landscape videos will be helpful in viewing videos with formats like dance and sports which are high motion and often feature a handful of people in the frame.
