Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A last year running MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Last month it was updated to MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM which was based on Android 7.1 (Nougat) only but the company started rolling out Android 8.1 (Oreo) based  MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM towards the end of last month. Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for the smartphone. [gallery ids="270924,270923,270922"] The new Android Oreo-based update comes as MIUI 10.1.2.0.OCKMIFI and is 1.3 GB in size, Xiaomi has updated the Android security patch as well and now it runs on Nov 2018 security patch. Though the update is labelled as Stable in the screenshots, it may be in the partial rollout stage as many users on Mi Community have reported that they have not received the update yet. If you haven't received the update on your device, you can download the Recovery ROM here and flash it using the recovery method.
