Off lately Google has been adding a dark mode to its native apps including Android Messages, YouTube. Now the company might soon bring the dark mode to Google Phone app as well as it teased in the PlayStore change log a while ago. While the latest update doesn't bring the change, it sure hints at it. Going by the screenshots, the main screen has this gradient at the top which still needs to be reversed and the setting screen has dark text which needs to be in white when the background is black. It is unclear if the contact's thumbnail will also be in dark theme, but for now, they still have light pastels. It is possible that they will go through a darkening process as they seem out of place in an otherwise dark screen. The Dark mode settings will be present under the 'Display options' in the Phone app. Furthermore, the Settings screen lost its blue title bar, switched to the white navigation bar, and added back dividing lines that used to be common when it is in Halo.
