It doesn't have always-on screen to prevent battery drain, so the display lights up only when you lift your hand. The display is not protected by any kind of scratch resistant glass, so that it is prone to scratches easily. It already offers sleep tracking when you connect it to third-party apps, now it is adding improved sleep insights in the form of new charts that show you your sleep patterns over time. "You’ll also be able to add, edit or access your sleep history through the journal," said Google. Android app already shows Workout Routes, a summary of your workouts along with a map of your route, whether you ran, hiked or biked.  Now it will be available for the iPhone app for workouts actively tracked on your Wear OS by Google smartwatch, Apple Watch or other connected apps. Official changelog also mentions improvements to the UI, and minor bug fixes for both the platforms. Google said that these features will roll out gradually over the next week for Android and iOS platforms. Source

<p>There are a lot of third-party add-ins and connectors available for Outlook. What’s the difference between add-ins and connectors, how do you use them, and are they safe to use? We’ve got the answers for you.</p>
<h2>What are Add-ins and Connectors?</h2>
<p>Add-ins and connectors are ways of connecting Outlook to 3rd-party applications. These applications include ones most people have heard of (even if you haven’t used them) like Dropbox, Trello, and Slack. There are additional add-ins and connectors that you’ll probably never hear of outside of corporate environments. These usually facilitate activities like expenses, CRM (customer relationship management), and video meetings.</p>
<p>The aim of all of them is the same, though: to allow you to interact in some way with another application from right within Outlook.</p>
<p>The difference between an add-in and a connector is about the direction of the integration. An add-in allows Outlook to send something to another application. A connector enables the other application to send something to Outlook.</p>
<p>For example, there is a Trello add-in and a Trello connector. The Trello add-in allows you to create or amend a Trello task straight from an email. The Trello connector will enable Trello to send notifications and reminders direct to Outlook.</p>
<p>There are two primary types of add-in: ones that use buttons and ones that highlight parts of the email.</p>
<p>The add-ins that use buttons put a button onto the ribbon that you can click when viewing an email. Clicking this button will activate the add-in functionality, such as sending the email to Trello to create a task, or posting the email contents into a Slack channel. At this point, the relevant content from the email is sent to the 3rd-party service.</p>
<p>When an add-in that highlights content is installed, it tells Outlook what kind of information it uses, such as location data for a map add-in. When you open an email, Outlook looks for that kind of information—an address, for example—and highlights it. When you click on the highlighted content, the relevant information (the address, in this case) is sent to the 3rd-party service so they can display it on a map for you.</p>

But if you already owned a Dash button, it still worked. But that’s changing as Amazon will stop fulfilling Dash orders after August.</p>
<p>When Amazon discontinued Dash button sales earlier this year, the company promised to continue supporting existing buttons so long as customers used them. It may come as a surprise then to hear that Amazon has changed course and will stop taking Dash orders after August 31st.</p>
<p>An <a href="https://www.cnet.com/news/amazon-is-going-to-kill-your-dash-button/?tag=823814-20">Amazon spokesperson told CNET</a> that Dash orders have “significantly slowed” which led to the decision to shut down the service. That’s no surprise in some ways; Dash buttons proved to be inconvenient since you couldn’t be sure of the price of an order, and the company stopped pushing the service.</p>
<p>In the meantime, Alexa shopping took over as Amazon’s face of instant shopping. You benefit because Alexa can confirm the price of an item before you order and can add a variety of different items to your cart, unlike Dash buttons. <img alt="" src="https://images.fonearena.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Apple-iPad-Mini-5th-Gen.jpg" /> Recently, International Data Corporation(IDC) published a report on the worldwide smartphone shipments during Q2 2019. Similarly, now IDC has published a report on the global tablet shipments and shows a decline of 5.0% year over year during the second quarter of 2019. According to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation, the global tablet shipments fell to 32.2 million units. Apple managed to increase its share compared to Q2 2018 and gain 6.1% YoY and the reports show that iPad Air in Q2 2018 helped Apple to double its detachable tablet shipments. Samsung continues to remain in the second position with 4.9 million units in Q2 2019 and has declined 3.1% YoY, compared to 5 million units in Q2 2018. HUAWEI is in the third position with 3.3 million shipments and has also declined 6.5% YoY, compared to 3.5 million shipments in Q2 2018. It is followed by Amazon with 2.4 million shipments and Lenovo with 1.9 million shipments in Q2 2019. Source

<img alt="" src="https://images.fonearena.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/OPPO-Game-Color-Plus-and-Dual-WiFi-1-1024x571.jpg" /> OPPO at the Chinajoy 2019 announced new Game Color Plus and Dual Wi-Fi features for ColorOS and also demoed them on OPPO's Reno phones at the event. These are focused on improving the gaming experience on smartphones. The Game Color Plus technology users augmented imaging technology developed in partnership with Qualcomm. The will let users enjoy high-quality game scenes optimized for OPPO's smartphone displays with low power consumption. This uses Adaptive Image Enhancement (AIE), Compressed noise reduction (CNR), Edge pseudo pixel removal (EAR) and Quantization Brand Removal (QBR) to offer better output. The Dual Wi-Fi technology will allow devices to connect to two different wireless networks simultaneously, while enabling them to send and receive data independently. This will not only double the network speed, but also seamlessly switches between the two connections to offer the best experience for online gaming and streaming videos. The company says that the game speed can be increased by 322%, and video streaming speed has been increased by 296% on a 20Mbps connection. We can expect these features in ColorOS updates in the future. Source
