It’s generally a good idea to keep your apps updated, but there are situations where you might not want to. You might be on a metered connection or have a data cap you’re trying not to exceed. Or, you might not want a particular app updated to a new, buggy version. Here’s how to prevent the Microsoft Store from automatically updating apps you’ve downloaded from it.
The first thing you’ll need to do is fire up the Microsoft Store. Hit Start, type “store” into the search box, and then click “Microsoft Store.”
In the Store app, at the top right, click on the See More button (the three dots) and then click “Settings.”
From here, turn of the “Update Apps Automatically” toggle.
