Sony have today unveiled an updated version of their Android Wear powered Smartwatch 3 which aims to solve a large criticism leveraged towards the Android Wear device. Announced today, the Smartwatch 3 now comes in a fetching Stainless Steel option which offers an alternative to the rather plain silicone strap version currently available. Like the original model, the stainless steel Smartwatch 3 sports a 1.6 inch 320x320 TFT LCD Transflective display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It comes equipped with NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 and as we found in the Smartwatch 3 review, the 420 mAh battery offers between one and two days battery life. The stainless steel Smartwatch 3 is IP68 certified offering dust and water resistance and can be charged using a standard microUSB cable without the need for a docking station. Alongside their new smartwatch, Sony also announced the Smartwatch 3 Holder which "allows users and partners alike to customise SmartWatch 3 with any standard 24mm watch strap".
