Samsung announced the Galaxy A series smartphone, the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 with all metallic build. We got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy A5 that is currently the top-end variant in the new A series. We picked up the smartphone from Hong Kong for around US$ 480. It is actually a PenTile screen in which you can clearly see the PenTile matrices. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snadpragon 410 processor, similar to the Galaxy Mega 2. It runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. There is a 5MP front-facing camera. It has dual nano SIM slots on the right side. An interesting addition is that the secondary SIM slot can also be used as a microSD slot when required. The Galaxy Alpha has 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory.
