MediaTek has announced its new i700 AI platform for consumer IoT products. It can be applied in a wide range of scenarios, including smart city, smart building and smart manufacturing and it is aimed to accelerate the development of AI-enabled consumer IoT products. MediaTek i700 platform comprises of CPU, GPU, ISP, and a dedicated AI processing unit. It is powered by an octa-core CPU with two cores built on the ARM Cortex-A75 architecture, clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores built on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture, clocked at 2.0GHz. It is coupled with an IMG PowerVR GM 9446 GPU and IMG 9XM-HP8 ISP that is clocked at 970MHz. Regarding support for camera, the i700 platform supports camera configurations of up to a single 32MP camera or a 24MP+16MP dual-camera setup. The upgraded tri-core ISP supports 14-bit RAW and 10-bit YUV processing along with improved facial recognition with the AI Face Detection engine. On the connectivity front, it supports 2x2 802.11ac Wi-Fi Bluetooth LE 5.0, Cat.12 modem with4x4 MIMO and tri-band carrier aggregation.
