Its been two years since Opera, the same developers for Opera Browser for PC, released its News app for Android. It had become widely popular in multiple regions including Africa and now, Opera has released a Lite version of the app to work better on high-end Android smartphones. The Opera News Lite is designed for devices with limited data storage capabilities and for areas with slow or expensive networks. The app package is about a megabyte in size, which is really convenient for high-end devices. In slow network conditions, the app will remain responsive and continue to deliver content fast. Opera is focusing on African countries with the opening of local data centers in countries like Kenya, Nigeria and other nearby countries, reducing connection latency by a significant amount. The Opera News Lite will be available in over 40 countries that include India, US, Malaysia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, etc. To download the latest version of the app from the Play Store, click here.
