Facebook today has announced that it has banned 'myPersonality app' which was mainly active prior to 2012 on Facebook and failing to agree for audit. Since the app has shared information with researchers as well as companies with only limited protections in place, the company will notify 4 million people who chose to share their Facebook information with myPersonality that it may have been misused. However, since Facebook doesn't have any evidence that 'myPersonality app' accessed any friends’ information, for now, it will not notifying any of users friends on Facebook, but should that change, it vows to notify. Facebook says that since the investigation started in May, it has investigated thousands of apps and has suspended more than 400 due to concerns around the developers who built them or how the information people chose to share with the app may have been used. For this reason, Facebook says that it has changed its policies including the expansion of App Review and a new policy that no information will be shared with apps if you haven’t used them in 90 days.
