HUAWEI introduced its Mate X foldable 5G smartphone earlier this year and the company also confirmed that it will launch the smartphone in India later this year. The launch was being delayed and now, the company has officially announced information regarding the launch of the Mate X foldable smartphone. Earlier this week, Vincent Pang who is the President of HUAWEI's Western European Region revealed that the Mate X foldable 5G smartphone will launch in September-at the latest or even earlier. It will run on Android operating system and will be launched in markets which have 5G deployed, but it is not coming to the US given the HUAWEI ban in the US. Pang also said that the slow rollout of 5G in markets like China was one of the reasons for the delay. The company has improved the P-OLED screen on the device and performed a lot of tests to prevent it from getting caught up with the same problems that Samsung had with the Galaxy Fold. To recall, the Mate X has a 6.6-inch OLED screen on the front and 6.38-inch screen on the back that expands to an 8-inch screen when unfolded.
