HUAWEI introduced its Mate X foldable 5G smartphone earlier this year and the company also confirmed that it will launch the smartphone in India later this year. Later, Vincent Pang, President of HUAWEI’s Western European Region revealed that the Mate X foldable 5G smartphone will launch in September. Last week a report said that the phone will launch between September and November 2019. Now a new report says that the phone is getting a spec upgrade as well, and will now be powered by the upcoming Kirin 990 SoC, that will first debut with the HUAWEI Mate 30 series that will be announced in September. The Mate X will also feature an improved 40-megapixel RYYB sensor with f/1.6 aperture, same as the P30 Pro, compared to the 40-megapixel RGB f/1.8 aperture camera that was announced before, says the report. The Mate X has recently been certified by TENAA in China with the model number TAH-AN00, so we can expect the launch soon. Source 1, 2
