HMD Global launched the Nokia 2 budget smartphone in India back in November last year. At the launch the company confirmed that the phone will get Android 8.0 (Oreo) update in the future. Later in December HMD Global’s Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed that Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping 8.0 update, and also said that it the update will bring most of the Android 8.1 features including the memory management improvements.
